Internship / Student Job
In addition to the (paid) 9 week internship foreseen by the program, students are allowed to work part-time for a company or one of the institutes. This is a good opportunity to help finance your living expenses and the tuition fees.
We can not support students with their housing and living costs, since we have substantial costs in financing the MSCE program. E.g. every year we hire well known international guest professors to teach in the MSCE program, in addition to TUM's excellent faculty. Especially during your second year at TUM you can apply for part time teaching and research positions at one of our institutes, or in industry.
Additional grants and scholarships covering part of the living or traveling expenses might be attainable through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
For applicants from (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia) there is a new stipend program by BAYHOST to cover the living expenses in Germany during a postgraduate course (information available only in German). Please refer to their website and office for more information.
Student housing is very limited in Munich. An overview of existing alternatives including prices is provided at the TUM website and the Studentenwerk website. The MSCE program is unable to provide students with housing directly.
The living cost in Munich are quite high, because of the high rent in Munich.
