Double Degree Master Program at CDHK / Tongji University

China experienced a rapid economic growth in the last years. Especially in the area of Electrical Engineering, China is considered to be the biggest exporter. Many Chinese companies are specialized in the manufacturing of microelectronics and are producing for companies all over the world. In addition to microelectronics, China's role in the field of artificial intelligence is getting more and more important. Already many years ago, the Chinese government started fostering research efforts in the field of artificial intelligence. Today China is already one of the leading countries in artificial intelligence. Until 2030, China strives to obtain the leading role in this field. The degree course of Electrical Engineering is the eldest program at CDHK.

In May 2017, the CDHK, the College of Electronic and Information Engineering (CEIE / Tongji University) and TUM closed an agreement which gives German students the chance to attend lectures at CEIE as well as lectures at CDHK. CEIE offers a wider range of lectures held in English in Electronical Engineering and therefore extends the study offer for German students.

The double degree master agreement gives students access to an excellent teaching offer in both Germany and China. This diverse offer considers the individual interests of each student and conveys essential cultural competences that can be of advantage in the students' professional future.

Curriculum

During their double degree master the students spend their first year in Munich (semester 1 and 2) before spending the following year in Shanghai (semester 3 and 4). In their fourth semester the students start their Master's thesis which is supervised by both partner universities. An extension of the studies to 5 semesters is possible.
