Course Evaluation in Summer Semester 2022

In summer semester 2022, all courses in BSEI, MSEI, MSCE and MSNE will be evaluated (except tutorials). Tutorials can be evaluated at the request of the lecturer.

The course evaluation takes place as a pure online evaluation via EvaSys (Education Survey Automation Suite). The evaluation period: June 13 - July 03, 2022. Students receive the required TANs by e-mail during the evaluation period. In addition to that, students can access the evaluation via Moodle. The results of the course evaluation will be discussed with the students during the current semester.

Students at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as members of the Department Council can view the results in a password-protected area after the evaluation period

Course Evaluation in Winter Semester 2021/22

Survey among Students on their Study Conditions in Summer Semester 2021

In summer semester 2021, an online survey among students of  the degree programs B.Sc. Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and M.Sc. Communications Engineering took place. Students were asked to give feedback on the study conditions in their degree program. They had the opportunity to anonymously describe their experiences and give their assessments. What is going well and what meets their expectations, and what is going badly or where is a need for improvement? Thanks to all students who participated in the survey! The feedback helps to further develop the study programs.

The survey of students is carried out every two years in each degree program as part of TUM's own quality management system. Students at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering can view the results of the survey in a password-protected area. The results are discussed and evaluated in the QM-circles together with Student Representatives in order to develop measures for further improvement.

Course Evaluation – Background Information

Why are Course Evaluations so important?

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is committed to continually improving teaching quality. For lecturers, course evaluations give objective feedback on levels of student satisfaction. Students’ written comments may help flag up problem areas. While positive feedback gives the lecturer confirmation that their teaching concept helps students in improving their skills.

Is data protection respected? Is anonymity guaranteed?

Yes. In the EvaSys system used by the manufacturer Electric Paper, it is not possible to assign TANs to a specific evaluation. It is not possible to trace which evaluation was given by whom.
