Double Degree with French Partner Universities

The TUM Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and several French elite universities offer qualified students the opportunity to acquire a French degree in addition to their TUM Master’s degree within an extended course of studies.

An advantage of this program is the combination of a generalist or advanced study at two excellent universities. In addition to that, the students benefit from an occupational as well as personal qualification due to the bilateral cultural and academic education.

Please note: According to current guidelines, French citizens who study at TUM cannot apply for the Double Degree programs. Sole exception: Students with dual citizenship.

T.I.M.E. Program

T.I.M.E. (Top Industrial Managers for Europe) is an exchange program for engineering students or students of applied sciences at highly respected European universities.

The aim of the program is to educate a limited number of selected students supranationally. Apart from acquiring mere language and subject-specific competencies, a particular aspiration of the program is the education of the students to cultural ambassadors. After every country has developed its own educational system for engineers with its respective assets and drawbacks, the T.I.M.E. program attempts to unite the advantages of the respective systems. Besides outstanding qualification, a prerequisite for participating students is a particular openness to foreign cultures and foreign educational systems.

Within the scope of T.I.M.E., we offer Double Degree programs with French elite universities. The participants do a two-year course of studies at a foreign university together with local students and are completely integrated in education and social life. Following this, the students earn degrees of both partner universities (Master’s degree and Diplome d’Ingenieur) and illustrate with that the international nature of their education. Upon their return, T.I.M.E. students have expanded both their academic and their socio-cultural horizons and can describe themselves as European engineers with good reason. Experience has shown that graduates of this program are especially recruited by international companies, which means that the program also finds broad support in industry. Over time, a couple of alumni networks have molded out of the mere exchange program. By now, these so-called T.I.M.E.+ clubs have formed a broad network in Europe.

The Double Degree program is part-financed by the German-French University (DFH/UFA).
