Application Procedure

Admission requirements

To be admitted into the Master Eektrotechnik und Informationstechnik you will need to have a bachelor’s/master’s/undergraduate or comparable degree in one of the following areas:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Or similar subject

A decision on whether any degree programs not listed above are equivalent or comparable can only be made in the course of the application process. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any statements about this beforehand. You may need to provide evidence of sufficient German language skills and a preliminary documentation (VPD) from uni-assist. The curriculum vitae has to be in German.

In addition, all applicants will need to pass an aptitude assessment. During the aptitude assessment you will need to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the form of a minimum number of credits (at least 150 credits in total on the transcript) from the following areas:

  • Advanced Mathematics
  • Physical Principles
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Your current grades are also taken into account.

Depending on your prior knowledge, you will either be directly accepted, directly rejected or have the opportunity to prove yourself in an aptitude interview.

Deadlines:

  • registration deadline for winter semester: 31.05.
  • registration deadline for summer semester: 30.11.

Interviews

Interviews for applications for summer term are conducted from January to March, for winter term from June to September. The exact date will be announced at least on week prior to the interview. Early applications usually receive earlier appiontments.
