Basic Laboratory Course on Telecommunications
|Language of instruction||English|
|Position within curricula||See TUMonline|
The purpose of this laboratory is the enhancement of topics of Nachrichtentechnik 1 and Nachrichtentechnik 2.
The laboratory consists of the following experiments: • Image Coding (COD) • Digital Baseband Transmission (DBT) • Diversity in Mobile Communications (DMC) • Digital Modulation Schemes (DMV) • Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) • Code Division Multiple Access (CDM) Preparation for each experiment is necessary and will be tested. With sufficient preparation, each experiment can be done within 3 hours. After every experiment there is a closed book, graded 30 minute test. Non-programmable calculators are allowed. The final grade is the average of the best 5 test results. Thus, it is possible to miss one test but not recommended.
Nachrichtentechnik 1 is recommended as prerequisite. Nachrichtentechnik 2 is not necessary and can be attended at the same time than the laboratory course.
There are 3 30-min exams about the experiments Pulse Code Modulation/Digital Modulation Schemes, Digital Baseband Transmission/Diversity in Mobile Communications and Image Coding.
