The "Shanghai Ranking" ranks TUM as best German Technical University

The "Shanghai Ranking" ranks TUM as the best German Technical University and as one of the best 6 Technical Universities in the world.

TUM presently ranks as no. 52 of the universities in the world and as one of 4 universities in Germany.
Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich ranks 48, Heidelberg University 57, University of Bonn 84 and no. 8 as European university.

In an annual survey, the Shanghai Ranking evaluates universities by the quality of their research.
This "Academic Ranking of World Universities" was initiated by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The research survey evaluates the number of publications and their citations, e.g. in "Nature" and "Science" magazines.
It also includes awards like Nobel Prizes and Field Medals as best in Mathematics.

Currently TUM ranks in 9 subjects as one of the best 50 universities worldwide.

•    Environmental Sciences and Engineering: 15 (in Germany: 1)
•    Aerospace Engineering: 17 (in Germany: 1)
•    Electrical and Electronic Engineering: 19 (in Germany: 1)
•    Medical Technology: 21 (in Germany: 2)
•    Food Science and Technology: 37 (in Germany: 1)
•    Agricultural Sciences: 38 (in Germany: 2)
•    Biotechnology: 49 (in Germany: 1)
•    Human Biological Sciences: 50 (in Germany: 6)

Different international rankings, like "QS World University Ranking" ranks TUM for the 7th time as the best German university .

Also as 3rd in Europe and one of 50 worldwide.
