The Chair of Information-oriented Control, Technische Universität München, is seeking for a
Research Assistant/wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in with opportunity for dissertation
in the field of control of cyber-physical systems. Cyber-physical
systems (CPS) are physical, biological and engineered systems whose
operations are monitored, coordinated, controlled and integrated by a
computing and communication core. Cyber-physical systems are crucial to
the functioning of technologies that are used in multi-robot systems and
large-scale infrastructure systems such as smart distribution networks
For this project, we focus on the area of distributed control in large-scale systems with distributed resources and wireless sensing/actuation. The research addresses
- the derivation of stochastic stability and convergence conditions for the overall system using drift criteria and Lyapunov-based analysis tools;
- development of a co-design framework for distributed control and scheduling laws, which guarantee efficiency, scalability, and flexibility;
- development of a co-design toolbox for validation of the developed methodologies.
We are seeking motivated and talented young
researchers with strong disciplinary background in system theory and
control. Good knowledge in stochastic systems, optimization, machine
learning, communications and robotics as well as advanced programming
skills (C/C++, Matlab, Simulink etc.) are an asset.
